Install Blixel

Blixel runs on a Mac with Apple silicon and macOS 15 Sequoia or later. Pick
one of three ways to install it. Each puts Blixel in your Applications folder.

Install with Homebrew

brew install --cask blixel-app/tap/blixel

This also installs the blixel command.

Install with one command

curl -fsSL https://blixel.app/install.sh | sh

The script downloads the latest Blixel, checks that Blixel's developer signed
it and Apple approved it, and copies it to Applications. It also installs the
blixel command. If it needs your password, it asks once.

Run it again to update. If Blixel is open, the script asks before it quits
Blixel. It never quits Blixel during a call.

Download it yourself

Download Blixel from blixel.app. Open the disk image and
drag Blixel to Applications.

Your coding agent works with Blixel installed this way too. To type blixel
in your own terminal, see the next section.

Use blixel in your terminal

Your coding agent doesn't need this: the Blixel plugin finds the blixel
command inside Blixel. You need it on your PATH only to type blixel
yourself or to run it from a hook.

Homebrew and the one-line script put it there for you. If you downloaded
Blixel yourself, add this line to ~/.zprofile and open a new terminal:

export PATH="/Applications/Blixel.app/Contents/Resources/bin:$PATH"

To check it, run:

blixel --version

Updates

To check for updates, choose Check for Updates… in the menu-bar panel or in
Settings. Settings also turns automatic update checks on or off.
